英语文摘:6th Athens Xclusive Designers Week opens

ATHENS, Oct. 31 (Xinhua)-- Athenians and visitors from all over the world this weekend had the opportunity to "witness fashion like no other", as the motto of the 6th Athens Xclusive Designers Week claimed.

    Twenty Greek and foreign designers, in many cases inspired by the plain yet strong lines of ancient Greece, and the colors of its landscape, present the new trends for spring and summer 2010 at the Ethniki Asfalistiki Conference Centre during the week, which started Friday.

Alexios Romanos, for instance, who opened the fashion festival with his first complete collection of haute couture, amazed even the most austere critics with his bold classy creations using as basic colors white and blue, as well as the girls' favorite pink.

        Angelos Frentzos' creations in faded black, purple and green on the other hand are characterized by new age and art rock elements, while Dionisis Chalikias- behind the brand Sense_nu (in catalan it means "without nudity") is inspired by the Amazons.
