英语文摘:Domingo Joins in Concert with Olympics Partner Song

BEIJING, Aug. 13  --  A concert pairing Spanish tenor Placido Domingo and Chinese singer Song Zuying will be held at Shanghai Grand Theater next month.

    Domingo wrote to Song inviting her to attend the concert, Shanghai Morning Post reported Thursday.

    The concert, called "Flames of Love", will cost more than 10 million yuan (1.47 million U.S. dollars). Domingo and Song impressed world audiences when they sang "Flames of Love" at the closing ceremony of the Olympic Games in Beijing last year.

    It's also the first time for Song to sing in the city, the report said. Famous conductor Eugene Kohn and Shanghai Opera House Orchestra will appear in the concert, which is set for September 25.
