The baby, named after her fiance, came in at 7 pounds, 14 ounces(3.54 kg) on Monday.
"The baby is beautiful and perfect," said Hudson's publicist Lisa Kasteler in a statement, "His parents are ecstatic."

Hudson, who is also a Grammy-winning singer, did not publicly announce her pregnancy. Rumors began to circulate that she was expecting earlier this year when she appeared to be showing on her inaugural tour of U.S. Hudson appeared visibly pregnant last month when she performed at the memorial service for Michael Jackson.
Hudson gained fame first as a top contender on "American Idol," and then won an Academy Award for best supporting actress for her portrayal of Effie in "Dreamgirls" in 2007. Earlier this year, she won a Grammy for best R&B album for her self-titled debut CD.
