英语文摘:Czech film wins 4 prizes at international festival in U.S.

Prague, March 28 (Xinhua) -- The Czech film Guard No. 47 (Hlidac c. 47) by Filip Renc has won four prizes at an international film festival in Tiburon, the United States, Czech TV reports said on Saturday.

    The film won the Golden Reel Award for Best Film, and the other three prizes included best director, best actress and best cinematography.

    The film tells about a story of a railway guard and World War Iveteran, who hoped to forget all the horrors he witnessed in the battlefield by spending his time with his young wife in a lone-standing guard house. However, peace did not come to him in the end. One day he saved the life of a young man attempting to jump under a train, but the latter fell in love with his wife while recovering.

    More than 100 films from 90 countries in the world took part in the festival.

    "I am really happy that Hlidac has won in so many categories. It is a great honor for us," Renc said.

    The film also won three prizes in the film competition Czech Lion for 2008.
