Iraqi military commanders say they believe hundreds of Islamic State fighters are holed up in a narrow area of Mosul and using entire families as human shields. The Iraqi soldiers are trying to clear out the remaining militants.
And Venezuela has marked 100 days of anti-government protests. Demonstrators are angry about President Nicolas Maduro's plan to have the country's constitution rewritten, saying he's trying to make himself a dictator.
