Andrew Puzder, President Donald Trump's pick to lead the Department of Labor, has withdrawn his name from consideration. Democrats strongly opposed the pick. Some Republicans raised concerns about Puzder's failure to pay taxes on a former housekeeper who wasn't authorized to work in the U.S.
President Trump is urging Israel to hold back on building Jewish settlements. He welcomed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to the White House and said peace between Israel and the Palestinians doesn't have to include a two-state solution.
U.S. Defense Secretary James Mattis is urging NATO allies to boost defense spending this year or see the Trump administration "moderate its commitment to them."
