Myanmar's opposition leader Aung San Suu Kyi is now in Beijing for her first ever visit to China.
Her groundbreaking trip comes at the invitation of the International Department of the Communist Party of China.
Department head Wang Jiarui, who's also the vice chairman of China's top political advisory body, has held talks with Suu Kyi.
Suu Kyi, chair of Myanmar's National League for Democracy, is leading a delegation of several NLD lawmakers on a five-day trip to China.
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Hong Lei says China expects the visit can deepen the understanding between the two sides.
