China's new energy cars have seen growth amid general decline in the automobile industry.
Both sales and production in the new energy vehicle sector have surged almost threefold during the January to September period from that of last year.
The data from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers also shows last month saw nearly 11-fold growth in production in the sector.
But there are still concerns on the market over issues like recharging and the battery life span.
The Minister of Industry and Information Miao Wei says the government is pushing construction and regulation to boost the sector.
"Though we have hundreds of stations and over 60 thousand recharging units, they are far from enough to meet costumers' demands. We are urging other ministries to include recharging stations during city planning and build more facilities. We are also working on standards and testing methods for battery life. We expect the service life of the battery to be the same as that of the vehicle."
The government has been pushing the development of new energy vehicles since the beginning of this year.
That includes subsidies and preferential policies for manufacturers and customers, in a bid to cut car emissions, one of the causes for the country's prolonged smog problem.
