We continue, now, with the American tourist making international headlines after he accidentally broke the finger off a statue that is centuries old, violating museum rules. You all know it, look, don't touch. This morning, outrage at a florence museum after an American tourist snapped the finger off a 600-year-old marble statue of the virgin Mary.

According to reports, the man was measuring the finger and comparing it to his own hand when he accidentally broke the work of art. A security guard at the museum spotted him. But it was too late.He was later confronted by police.

T, museum’s spokesperson said that the fundamental rules for visiting a museum had been forgotten. That is, he said, do not touch the works.

Florence police tell abc news that the culprit is a Connecticut man, born in Missouri with the initials P.B. And he was apologetic when questioned.

He is reportedly an emergency surgeon at a Connecticut hospital. And this isn't the first time an accident has befallen museum treasures. In 2010, a Picasso painting worth $130 million was ripped when a clumsy art lover tripped and fell against it at the metropolitan museum of art.

And Casino Mogul Steve Wynn ripped his picasso masterpiece when his elbow went through it. Picasso's 1932 masterpiece was in the process of being sold by Wynn when he damaged it.

It has since been repaired and hangs in Wing's office.

The sale was rescinded. The sale was rescinded.

So, the statue can be repaired thankfully. Italian prosecutors will now decide whether charges will be filed against the man and if he will be fined.

Remember, folks, look. Don't touch.

A surgeon.

He's a surgeon, ironically,do something with the finger.

Laura, thank you.
