New York governor Andrew Cuomo announced on Saturday that hospital admissions rate for people infected with the coronavirus in the State is down. Cuomo said a further 783 people had died in the state on Friday.

And in Britain people appeared to heed the government's warning not to venture out on Saturday despite warm weather amid lockdown measures to contain the spread of the virus. The south coast city of Brighton would normally be packed over the Easter weekend, but the seafront and beach was almost empty.
