【今日Topic】你认为英语等级证书与学位挂钩合理吗?20071227

[font=宋体][size=4][color=black]    记者了解到，某些高校将英语四级证与学位证挂钩，如果学生毕业前拿不到英语四级证，就直接导致拿不到学位证。对此，一位高校老师这样解释：“英语四六级是学生能力的体现与验证，拿到证书说明学生英语达到一定水平，现在许多公司人才需求要求通过英语四六级，学校这么做是为学生的将来着想。” [/color][/size][/font][/align][align=left]
[font=宋体][size=4][color=red]观点二：证书并不能代表能力[/color][/size][/font][/align][align=left][font=宋体][size=4][color=#ff0000][/color][/size][/font][/align][align=left][font=仿宋_GB2312][color=black][font=宋体][size=4]    一些大学生对此不以为然。小张是某高校大四的学生，英语四级考试参加了4次，还是没通过，今年12月份的这次考试他没有报名。“我大学拿过多次奖学金，学生会工作也做过许多，但英语就是绊脚石，证书并不能代表能力。没有学位就没有吧。”对于小张的态度，很多同学表示理解。当然大部分人还是抱着有机会就再试试的态度，毕竟拿不到学位证对念了4年大学的学生来说是一种缺憾。

I  think both sides are right .It need a  trade off between these two sides. sometimes ,the decrease of the difficulty of the exam  is the best policy.

We haven't the motivation to learn english when there are no requirement .At the other side,we spend a lot of time on english .sometimes english is not everything for college students. WE should pay attention on what we really want .  
maybe the education ministry have realize the problem caused by CET-4 issue. somethings had been done to deal with the problem.
Let's hope for the best  and look the bright side .

I agree the second one,because English doesn't stand for ability.Without English,we can also make great success,but on the other hand , we may lost many chances if our English is very poor,so we 'd better learn English well.

I can't agree with Mr/Miss zhang. In china ,diploma really means somthings to us because  
WE are common people .

Mmmmmm.well,First I should say we cannot change the situation now ,though there may seen to be so many
negative effects of linking Bachelor`s Degree with the CET-4 certification,what we can do is just adapt .
As you list above,CET-4 ,which is not necessarily reprensenting you real ability,We may treat this as a stimulus to
inspire our passion for English learning.After all,It does no harm  when you step into the society with the prove of your efforts and competence.
   I`m writing to you here at the stand of a college student to -be.Believe it or not.

The CET-4 is useful or not?
Different people have different views.
In my opinion, I care about that I can improve my english.
what we prepare for passing the CET-4 is rarely used in our real life,but the exam require us to learn it.
that is why so many student pass the CET-4 but they can't speak english fluency.

Moreover, there are many student who can buy the Answer to pass it.
the CET-4 also make many Moral problem.

i have something to say
i was a one who had got five times to pss CET-4, but you can not say i was a bad student.
i was good at maths,physics,chemistry,i always got full marks in the test.
English is my biggest headache.i do not like it at all.but i have no choice,i have to learn.
if i had not pass  CET-4,i could not got my degree,and i wondered if i could found a job.
NOw,English is also my troublemaker.So,whatever i lke English or not ,i have to learn.
thanks to CET, i had learned some English during my college life,now ,i can learn it a little easier.

Alhouth every thing has two sides, yet there shuold be a balance between them.On one hand, it is must for 21 century student to have a good master of English, which is also of great help to them in their future career. But on the hand, there is no necessarity for every one to pass the G4. Above all, every one is different and has his or her own talent. And we each have the same time in the four years, so if we spent too much time in learning Englsih we will have less time for our majors. What really matters to most college students is the knowledge and ability to work in the future, so it is a waste of time and money and energy, whcih in turn also hurts our country's development.

There are two sides in coin.
In my opinion, the student must pass  CET-4, then can get the degree. Now everything can't run without english. such as, IT, international trade, and so on. and if you want to get a good job, you have to have well english.  Yes, certification is very important, besides CEN-4 certification, the IT certification is also very important. People speak english that is not the fresh thing.  If you want to pass CET-4, you must work hard.  Even if the students can buy answer for exam, they should know how to fill in the answer.

The best that you can pass CET-4 and speak english well....
Regarding me, I didn't pass CET, actually I have no chance for CET-4. I just had three years college. I didn't need to get CET-4 certification. However , I don't get any certification about english.  So I feel my english poor.

i'm a freshman.i want to express my point.iold saying goes:a coin have tow sides.if college degree si not connect with cet-4,we can't have passion to work for english.but learnning english is a intresenting no more than a burdan.it's my fool view! thinks!

I  think  nowhere  else  in  the  world  have  the  certificates  and  degrees  been  so  important   as  in  China,  which  directly  lead  to  the  wide  attention  to  the  exams  of  all  sorts. It  seems  that  years  of  hard  work  is  just for  several  papers  to  certify  our  ability  and  knowledge.
    From  my  point  of  view,  it's  unreasonable .Perhaps,  many  regard  it  as  a  good  regulation  because  it  triggers
a  great  interest  of  English  for  teens  and  inspires  us  to  learn  English  harder  than  ever.  But  how  many  people  really  attain  the  ability  of  using  English  as  a  communication  skill  after  passing  through  CET? I'm  afaid  the  majority  have  laid  it  aside  and  turn  to  something  else  once  the  certificates  are  in  their  hands.
    What's  more,  as  we  all  know,  not  every  major  we  take  up  has  a   tight  connection  with  English.  Thus,  why
must  the  certificate  be  associated  with   a  degree? Despite  the  broken  English,  a  guy  can  excel  at  his  major,
also  being  active  in  all  kinds  of  compaigns. When  it  comes  to  this  ponit,  it  becomes  unfair  to  juge  a  person
by  his  certificate  of  CET.
    In  a  word,  I  hope  students  especially   college  students  don't  be  tormented  any  more  by  grades.

Firstly,I agree the point that we should learn English well.It is good for our future.From here we can say the college professor was right on one side.
   
     But, on the other side,college doesn't offer the certificate of degree is not fair to students. Students can not pass the CET may have many reasons. It can not just show their power on it. So, what they done was a wrong decision.

     As a student ,to learn something well is deserve. And sometimes, to be yourself is also important, do not let the grade control us. Just try our best!
